i stole my grandmothers scarf

 I stole my grandmothers scarf and fell in love so now its mine. Its a step towards the whole "add more colour into your wardrobe" deal and makes me feel like I've got that 'edgy bohemian vibe' I so eagerly want. It reminds me off Natalie off Duty / Cosima from Orphan Black / Cosima's cool yoga girlfriend Shay. All humans who I admire for their boho look.



Oh these photos make me miss my blonde hair so much. It makes it look really good when in reality it was a bit of a mare. I'm having major withdrawals tho. I see someone with bleached hair and my heart does a little twirl. I see someone going blonde and I envy them. Because being blonde was different, edgy and cool. And now I kinda feel normal, and a bit boring.

blonde me

You know how a few weeks ago I went back to brunette, then I wrote a post about how even tho I'm brunette again I'm no different to when i was blonde. I WAS FREAKIN WRONG. There have been moments the past few weeks where I've reverted back to brunette britney circa 2013. That britney was weird. SHY. AWKWARD. INSECURE. That britney, I HATE. I talked it out with one of my work pals and they said it could be my mind having a freak out / the brunette flipping old switches in my head. Long story short, I freaked out, but blonde Brit is back (in the form of a brunette).



In other news ice skating is probably the most expensive hobby (cough cough addiction) I've ever had. That shits expensive ya know. It feels so freeing (and freezing haha) and really fun when I go along with the gorgeous Tara. (faux) leather and velvet for an ice skating sesh with Tara was the dream team. Though, Tara had the right idea of gloves because it was next level freezing so when we went (again) on Wednesday (cheaper sessions) I made sure I had some fingerless gloves on my hand! I also successfully managed to skate with my rings on this time (usually i take them off)!

bleached blonde

Its weird posting photos of me like this when my hair isn't going to be blonde for a long time. I read an article earlier this year about what its like going from bleached blonde back to your normal colour and I never fully understood it till now. Going back to brunette was scarier for me than going to blonde orginally. I found myself as a blonde. I came into my own. And as i sat in the chair with Courtney (my colourist) painting permanet brown into my brittle blonde hair i second geussed myself. Because is being brunette really as fun? or is it boring? boring brunette. i realised its less about the colour of my hair, and more about who I am as a person. While i am going to eventually go back blonde its safe to say brunette Britney is the same as blonde Britney. I have fun no matter my hair colour.



Double denim tho, number one sin right. I reckon its ok. This giant red denim gives me crazy 90s vibes. It was actually my mums and swiftly got thrown into my wardrobe when she did a clear out. I like it. And I can see it going on many road trips and become my own. Funnily enough the skirt and the top are from kmart. #addict.

vintage denim

There is something about denim that makes it 10000x better when you buy it old. Someone else may have worn it but they've made it better. The fabric is softer and the denim has seen things. Its lived. Old places hold the same kind of magic. Its almost like a nostalgia you have no right to own. Stories you'll never hear, stolen kisses and fleeting moments all locked up away in the past. Its magic. The Winter Garden is one of those old super awesome places that hold secrets, wisps, fades and memories. Its just up the road from my work yet i hardly ever visit. Heck, I didn't even know there was a 'Fernery' till I went exploring with Celia one day and we snapped some photos. My boots were covered in a thick layer of mud when i got back to work. But it was worth it.

 The jumper is an old faithful from Kmart. Seriously this thing cost me 20 something dollars and I've worn it to death. Its good for going to bed, good for going to work, good for every thing you can think of. Except, perhaps a wedding. But everything else I'm sure! The dress is a vintage Tommy Hilfiger number I picked up from Magic Hollow and three weeks ago couldn't fit! #ntc yo
